Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She is also the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She has been widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received numerous national and international awards. She has worked with many government agencies and institutions around the globe on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been people who are victims of the law. She is an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional associations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and three Divisions of Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
